It's not about being perfect, it's about being as consistent as you can. Especially around busy schedules and family commitments. According to the Sleep Health Foundation alongside good nutrition and exercise, sleep is now recognised as one of the pillars of good health.

The Sleep Health Foundation's top tips for a good night's sleep include:

Having a regular sleep pattern: try to get to bed around the same time every night and getting up at the same time each morning.

Spend the right amount of time in bed: trying to get between 7 to 8 hours sleep is recommended however some people do need more and some less. You can also sleep too much, so it's important to try and find the right balance for you.

Winding down before bed: It is recommended any worries are put aside as much as possible before bed. Having a relaxation routine can help, like a sleep story or meditation

Love your bedroom: Make sure your bedroom and bed are comfy. Having a comfy sleep sanctuary can make all the difference.
